Our humble beginning...
Karen Cooper had the idea for the convention, and ran it past Josh Kohen, who was the manager of the PEZ kiosk ("Simen SEZ") at the Mall of America. They sold a few old dispensers, all the American currents, and a lot of t-shirts and similar merch. The kiosk was owned by Heartland Apparel, who had a license for the shirts, mugs, hats, and other stuff. Josh was excited and wanted to help put the con on, so they talked it over a lot. Josh came up with the idea of bringing in this eager young collector he knew named Andrew Thomas.
And, the rest is history! |
